March Classes and Events

Happy Craft Month.. What are you doing?  At Stitch DC, we have tons of classes to choose from including...

Learn to Knit: 
Beginner Knit Class March 13, 20, 27:  This is where we start. Also a great refresher course. Three sessions total. Learn to knit, purl, stockinette stitch, seed stitch, cast on, bind off. $80/plus materials.

Knitting 201:
Do you already know who to knit but want to try out some new techniques. We will explore cables, colorwork and lace in this new three week class. Each week is different technique. THis is a great next step after our beginner classes to advance your knitting education!  class is $80 plus materials.

Knit A Sweater:
We have two classes.  One just featuring men's sweaters that started on March 1 and a women's sweater class that starts on March 5.  For the class starting on March 5, I choose three sweaters.  One Easy for first time sweater knitters, one intermediate and one challenging.  This class is designed for anyone who knows how to knit and purl.  The rest is what we go over in class!  We meet Saturdays in March (5, 12, 19, and 26 from 11:30 to 1:00 pm) to learn new techniques, to encourage, to motivate, to inspire and of course to make a new sweater.  Learn more about the sweater classes here.  Mens or Womens

Learn to Knit Socks:
Learn to Knit socks from the toe up and short row heels. You can chooe from double points, two circulars or magic loop. We'll be going slowly and talking about each step, so feel free to register even if you've never worked in the round before. If you can knit and purl, this class is for you!  Register here

Learn Lace and Make a beautiful Lap Blanket:
A beautiful pattern by Jared Flood. A simple lace baby-blanket worked on large needles with yarn held double. This pattern makes a quick gift for any wool-loving baby in your life. Instructions for lace motifs are charted.  Finished Dimensions: approximately 26” x 31” after blocking.  Register here for the class
