April Blanket Pattern(s)

This month, I'm offering two stitches. The first, Evergreen Lace, is a bit more difficult. Every row brings something new. It's a challenge. Try it but if you get too flustered, feel free to work on the second pattern, Climbing Fern.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. If you choose EVERGREEN LACE, cast on 26 stitches and work the 13 rows. Measure for gauge and then make your 12" by 12" square.

2. If you choose TRAVELLING FERN, cast on 32 stitches and work 12 rows. Measure for gauge and then cast on appropriate number of stitches for your 12" by 12" square.

This is a lovely pattern. I recently finished a lacy scarf called Fishtail. When I cast off it was not a pretty sight — no pattern, no points. I then tried an elastic cast- off with YOs where the points should be and that helped a little. Do you recommend that I knit Traveling Fern in two parts and join in the center? Does that work with a pattern like this?
I will be in DC next week and hope to see your shop.
Thank you.

Is there a Metro stop anywhere near Stitch DC? Green line?
