Cables, bobbles, oh my!

Maureen asked for a new cowl pattern and you know how much I love making bobbles.  Below is my special recipe for bobbles.  Knit in the ultra soft Blue Sky Bulky, this is a quick cowl.  Think holiday gifts!

Gauge: 2 stitches equal 1"

Suggested Yarn, Needles and Notions:
  • 2 skeins Blue SKy Bulky (color porcupine)
  • US 17 needles circular
  • stitch markers
  • cable needle
  • darning needle

Abbreviations:
C4F: Slip 2 stitches onto cable needle, knit two from Left Needle, knit two from cable needle
MB: [k1, p1, k1, p1], turn; K4, turn; P4, pass 2nd stitch over 1st, pass 3rd over 1st, pass 4th over 1st.

Cast on 56 stitches, place marker, join round taking care not to twist.
Round 1: * p2, k1, p3, k4, p3, k1 repeat from * across round
Round 2: * p2tog, yo, k1, yo, p2tog, p1, k4, p1, p2tog, yo, k1 repeat from * across round
Round 3: *p2, MB, p3, C4F, p3, k1 repeat from * across round
Round 4: * p2tog, yo, k1, yo, p2tog, p1, k4, p1, p2tog, yo, k1 repeat from * across round
Round 5: * p2, k1, p3, k4, p3, k1 repeat from * across round
Round 6: * p2tog, yo, k1, yo, p2tog, p1, k4, p1, p2tog, yo, k1 repeat from * across round
Round 7: *p2, k1, p3, C4F, p3, MB repeat from * across round
Round 8: * p2tog, yo, k1, yo, p2tog, p1, k4, p1, p2tog, yo, k1 repeat from * across round
Round 9: * p2, k1, p3, k4, p3, k1 repeat from * across round

Repeat rows 1-9 three MORE times ending with row 9.
Bind off loosely.
Weave in ends and enjoy!

Hi there,

I love the look of this cowl and ordered the needles especially to make it. I'm almost at the end of round 3 and only have 5 stitches left, which isn't enough to do another repeat. Is the pattern definitely correct here or have I gone wrong?

Would really appreciate any help!

Thanks

Michelle
