September Classes

Back to school. The leaves will start to change soon. And the warm breezes will change to cool winds. Are you ready?

Stitch DC is stocking up for the Fall. We have new wools, silks, cottons arriving. We have more fabrics. And our class calendar is full of workshops for absolute beginners to uber crafty.

Beginner Knitting
This is where we start. Also a great refresher course. Three sessions total. Learn to knit, purl, stockinette stitch, seed stitch, cast on, bind off. $80/plus materials.

Also Available:
A shorter class that makes a smaller project. Designed for busy Washingtonians, this class is two 1.5 hour classes. you'll learn to knit, purl, cast on and bind off. The projet is a fashionable hat with chunky yarn and bigger needles  September 11 and 18 / 2:15 to 3:45

Learn to Sew/Quilt
Ticker Tape Quilt: This is a perfect Learn to Sew and Quilt Class. Make a pretty quilt and learn the basic of sewing on a machine without the worry of fit. Kinda like your first knitted scarf!
Sept 8, 22 and Oct 6 / 6:30 to 8 /

Want to explore more techniques and projects? This is the knitting world beyond scarves. You know how to knit and purl. Now you can try to knit with two colors, make cables, improve your finishing, or just enjoy good company and fun patterns. These classes are just the ticket.



Felted Slippers. so pretty and quick. A great next step class for new knitters. Uber popular on Ravelry. This is a perfect next step class. Learn to read a pattern and do all those fun things like increase, decrease, seam, etc.  October 1, and 8 / 6:30 to 8:00 Register

SWEATERS ON MONDAYS: I've chosen three different patterns. One Easy for first time sweater knitters, one intermediate and one challenging. This class is designed for anyone who knows how to knit and purl. The rest is what we go over in class! We meet mondays in September (except Labor Day) from 6:30 to 8:00 to learn new techniques, to encourage, to motivate, to inspire and of course to make a new sweater for FALL 2010 /

Fair Isle Holiday Stocking: Start now and suprise the family with hand made Holiday Stockings stuffed with goodies. In class, you'll learn to knit a simple fair isle stocking with a snowflake or reindeer motif. For newer knitters, Fair Isle is knitting with two colors.  Sept 15, 29 and Oct 13 / 6:30 to 8:00 /

Cabled Wrap Sunday Knit Along:
Five Way Cabled Wrap: This versatile piece will become a wardrobe staple as a shrug, wrap, poncho, or stole. With so many ways to wear it, it's good value and will stretch your wearing options-so indulge in some soft, touchable yarn and buttons you love. There are probably more than five ways to wear this accessory-how many more can you come up with? / REGISTER


Learn to Knit lace: Take a class with reknown local designer Tanis Gray. She has thoughtfully picked out two lace shawl patterns. She'll walk you thru the trials of lace knitting.

Can you tell me what size needles that cabled wrap uses and is yarn worsted weight? I love it but don't want another project on small needles. Thx.

I'm so sorry I missed the felted slippers class. Is there going to be another one?!?!
