Call for Donations

Stitch DC is collecting yarn donations for the The N Street Village.  The N Street's Wellness Center empowers homeless and low-income women to claim their highest quality of life by offering a broad spectrum of servies and advocacy in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.

The Center provides knitting and crocheting classes to women as an alternative and positive addiction, building their self-esteem, and allowing the women to express their creativity.  The knitting and crochet program has been running for 4 years now and is quite successful.  More and more women are joining the classes.  The Center desperately needs yarn for the classes.

So we are collecting yarns thru March 25.  The Center also needs needles and crochet hooks. Just drop off your extras and/or stash at Stitch DC.  We'll gather them together and deliver to the N Street Center.

If I don't live in DC but would like to donate yarn, should I mail it to N Street Village directly--or are mailed donations wanted?

Mailing directly to the N STree Village would be great. Be sure to put a note in that you are sending it for the Center's Knitting and Crochet Workshops so that they can direct them correctly. How wonderful of you.
THanks!
Marie
