Postcards to Camp Pearl

What else would you expect from a knitting mom? on TwitpicHere is a quick, cute, fun, kooky project that can be made with little leftover stash balls: A knitted postcard.

Nora is at Camp Pearl (aka Grandma and Grandpa Connolly's home on Pearl Court) for the month. I thought I'd send here a fun card from DC.

I made mine with Spud and Chloe Outer, Be Sweet Merino Thick and BLue Sky Dyed Cotton.

Here are quick instructions on how to make your own postcard.

Gauge: 3stitches =1"
Needle: US 10
Finished Postcard Measurements: 6 1/2" wide by 4" tall

Materials:
* 30-50 yds or less of chunky yarn
* US 10 Needles
* Darning Needle
* Postcard (you can purchase postcards at the Post Office for 28 cents. You will need to put additional postage on the card. I put a total an additional 44 cents on mine just to be sure.
* Hole Punch

Cast on 21 stitches. Work in stockinette stitch for 4 inches and bind off.
Weave in ends. (it's that easy... have fun and maybe do some fair isle or intarsia or just stripes like I did)

Punch holes around outside of postcard and sew 4" swatch to postcard. Drop in the mail. If you are concerned, bring to the counter at your local post office. I'm sure you'll get a smile from the clerk.
