Let's try socks

I was surfing a little this morning and came across this post on Melanie Falick's blog. This is my all time favorite book... with The Expectant Knitter as the only exemption :). WK was published years and years ago in a hard cover with a different photo. It has just been released as a soft cover.

Weekend Knitting is inspiring with great quotes and great timeless patterns. So this weekend as part of Stitch DC free craft alongs... we are going to pay homage to this great book by working on these great socks. Perfect for beginnger sock knitters on bigger needles and worsted weight yarn. We will have two sessions this weekend... Saturday from 2-4 pm and Sunday from 2-4 both at Capitol Hill. The socks are designed by another great Nora(h)... Norah Gaughan. The pattern is free and available here . The class is free*. All we ask is that you support the store with materials. Socks are a great summer time project. They are small and portable. And some may say addictive.

If you are already a sock addict oops, i mean knitter, come in and join us. Show off your creations!

And to top if off, we will have a prize... One lucky crafter will get a free copy of Weekend Knitting. Drop your name into our prize box and Nora will pick a winner at the end of the day. You don't need to be present for the prize but you will need to come to the store to enter.
